During our last weekly Huddle, a meeting where we ask fun questions and go over company updates, we shared our favorite Fall places. There were a ton of awesome answers but there were a few places that stood out. Some were even mentioned multiple times! If you’re looking for great places to travel during Autumn, write these beautiful places down.
The Smokey Mountains/Blue Ridge Parkway
I’m not surprised that this one was a popular destination. During the fall, the Smokey Mountains glow with the bright orange, yellow and red hues of the trees. To get the best tour of the foliage, drive up the famous Blue Ridge Parkway – a scenic windy road that has numerous turnouts and hiking spots. When my family and I went, we stayed in Asheville, NC and also visited the Biltmore Estate. I definitely recommend that!
Pipestem State Park, WV
One of our team members lives in West Virginia and raved about Pipestem State Park. Visitors can enjoy ziplining, fishing, mountain biking, rock climbing, and hiking, and tons of other activities. You can be super outdoorsy and camp or you can rent a cabin or stay in a lodge.
The Mountains of Colorado
There were 2 spots in Colorado mentioned, Fish Creek Falls & Lake City. Fish Creek Falls trail is located near Steamboat Springs and offers great hiking for the whole family. You can take a short walk to see the lower falls or do a moderate hike to see the upper falls. The falls are at their peak in the spring but there is no off-season.
Lake City is “off the beaten path” but has a lot to offer if you love the outdoors. You can see the golden aspen trees in the fall while you hike, mountain bike, or fish.
Fall in Michigan
Another great state to see amazing autumn colors is Michigan. If you’re headed towards the Great Lakes, check out the Best Places to See Michigan Fall Colors. Here you can 6 places that are definitely worth visiting, including Tahquamenon Falls State Park and Whitefish Point.
These were just a handful of some of the beautiful places our team has been to. What is the most amazing place you’ve been to? Feel free to comment below!
